Title: Matched

Author: Ally Condle

Genre: Science Fiction (Dystopian)

It’s All Chosen For You”

Cassia lives in a society where the officials decide everything, your job, when you die, and who you marry. Cassia thought she was matched with Xander, but she gets confused when she sees another face on the screen. This is a story of a girl finding her place, and changing her life for the better.

This story is told from the point of view of Cassia Reyes (the main character). The mood changes throughout the story, it goes from happy, to confused, to sad, to angry, and then back to confused! This book is full of little stories, and events you must understand to understand the entirety of the story. Condle uses foreshadowing in this book to enhance the story. Throughout the story, she uses Cassia’s thoughts to help show you what might happen next.

This book has 32 chapters, and 366 pages. It is the first of a three book series. I recommend this book for children ages 11 and up. I would tell someone to read this if they need something to read. By this, I mean that I don’t 100% recommend it. I wouldn’t read it if your wish list was already full of good books. I don’t exactly think that you should read this because it was very slow, and it didn’t really pick up and get good until the end. All in all, it was a relatively good book, but I didn’t love it.

3 STARS – It wasn’t very good.
