The Falmouth Girls’ High School Hockey team had a great season but sadly lost their second playoff game at the Bridgewater Ice Arena on Sunday, March 6.  The game’s final score was 3-4.  They had to win this game plus another game, in order to have gone to the finals at the Boston Garden.  Last year they were the champions, but this year we lost many seniors and one very good freshman that plays at her private school.  Throughout the game the refs were making very bad calls.

Falmouth had a very intense game vs. Pembroke with a very wild crowd.  Pembroke started off the game with the first goal, but then Falmouth got it back not long after.  Shannon Upton, player 22, scored a great goal on the Pembroke goalie, player 29. The Falmouth side of the rink was going crazy, and everyone was so excited.  Then, Pembroke scored again on our Falmouth goalie Emily, player 30, but Falmouth got it back again in a great penalty shot scored by Shannon Upton, player 22.

The cycle of back to back scoring kept happening between Falmouth and Pembroke. Caroline Coyne, player 9 and Brooke Bowman, player 8, scored two goals towards the end of the game to tie it up. Brooke Bowman’s goal was scored in seconds before the game ended. The Falmouth side of the rink went wild.  The goal was scored with our goalie pulled of the ice and with Emma Callahan, player 16 in the box.  Sadly, in overtime Falmouth lost.
